bob's revenge

"One icky glitch"

submission: bob's revenge

On one of the areas where you meet the axe men for the first time, there is a spot where you can fall through. Great game though, I liked it. Didn't play it all the way through yet, but it looks very promising.

Wiggi Recycle

"Pretty smooth"

submission: Wiggi Recycle
date: August 9, 2007

Was pretty smooth game play, I think you have a neat idea here.
The instructions could be explained a bit better.
But mostly, the game could use some type of motive. Like levels, money, some type of quota of each type... these are just some suggestions.

Very nice, but would like to see some objective. Congrats on Front Page.

"Good but buggy."

For those of you only reading this review looking for the book:
Ark'ash Steppes

Now, back, to you my flash authoring friend. You have a really neat game here; it's got lots of little things. I can't score you on what isn't here, but I can score you on the means it is to unlock it. I do think this game can sell, but I don't think it is ready yet nor am I ready to put in some cash for something that has lots of bugs.
I kept getting undefined in places dealing with morality or injured.
I didn't get the impression that fierce attack was any more devastating or ran them off any better.
The war drums said they removed command points but both I and my computer opponent seem to have kept them.
The skills are fairly redundant, such as the critters and the "air strike."
If you hadn't already, I'd suggest you test play it. It looks neat, but based on this demo, I wouldn't buy it. I could make a million suggestions, but I will ask that you take another look at it and really think about it.

Absalom Dungeon

"KISMAN! You rock."

submission: Absalom Dungeon

So, I spent the past few days viewing your games. And I must say, I am impressed at your innovations. The card/suit idea was a beautiful touch. I am a fan of originality and I have never seen anything quiet like that. Oddly enough, you just created a game that could be done with any deck of cards for those d&d fans. I love the new style, it isn't as animated as the old style, but I feel it adds lots of interaction to the game along with a feel for a map and direction. I love the new complexity you have added to the combat system. In every good game, 70% of every battle has been movement and 30% has been choosing what to use. This game is quiet a nice new addition to Newgrounds and I hope that you won't stop here. If I could suggest anything at all, I'd suggest the ability to change the music and sound volume. I don't hear any real sound effects and the music though lively, I don't care too much for it. I'd like to have my own music on the background with out the clashing.

Now a note for the other reviewers. I would like to just throw out there for people who are having problems with some of the bigger fights, to add more into defense. The fights may be a tad bit slower, but with Marthanne's ability to heal, a bit of defense on all your characters so that all strikes are less than half to strike and you can't lose. It may make the fights a bit drawn out, but this game is definatly about survival vs killing power.

"Too much randomness"

submission: Pandemic: EoM
date: February 24, 2007

It was a very solid game. The interface was down right sexy, the new twist is amazing... but I feel that it is far too random... so many games I've blown more than 20 points to infect an area and just fall short. Too many random varibles in a game I feel take away the stradgey in a game.

- Penguin Skate -

"That was just adorable"

submission: - Penguin Skate -
date: February 20, 2007

The movement was very smooth, nice job Captain Donut Master Sir. It was even down right soothing to just skate about the pound with the penguin. Niato that was very nice, crisp, and down right smooth. Looking forward to seeing this on the front page this week. Though, I must admit, I was a little bothered by the extent of the challenge was to run through rings... not much excitement. Though I'm not entirely sure what one could add to this... side scrolling 3dish flavor of game... Perhaps if you should do a sequel I'd suggest hills and such and the penguin sliding on its belly, with some flavor of tilt... lots of those on bikes I know, but a 3d one with the ring, glacer, and holes, would be pretty sexy... but that is just this critics idea... nice work though, look forward to seeing more expansive flashes from you both.

This is Zac, thanking you for making his newgrounds experience worth experiencing.

Mobile Weapon

"Good work team..."

submission: Mobile Weapon
date: February 4, 2007

Very nice...
The graphics was very nice, I love the shading, not over the top it ran very smoothly.
I personally enjoy the timeish turn base system and this one was very unique.
The sound was very nicely timed and appropiate, would be nice to have a choice to turn off the music and leave the sound effects. I feel sound effects always add a little something extra to a game but I would rather my music to go with it.
The dialog was a bit akward...
I love the user friendlyness of it. More user friendly = more professional.
There was a few glitches and a crash after the boss battle with the worm.

All in all, excellent format, beautiful graphics, I love the extra touch you brought to the time-turn base battle system, loved the character development, the sound effects were very key though would like to see a seperation between turning off the music and sound effects, loved the side stuff, very lengthy and detailed, and I enjoyed your right click menue. This is worth the 5 (which I don't typically use)... looking forward to seeing more submissions here on newgrounds.

"Census says..."

submission: Sinjid: SotW

Great game! I've played this game off and on for almost a year now. As you can tell, everyone is dying to hear about the long waited sequal (btw guys, the site is .com now, not .net (or at least there is a .com one))
The classes were the most balanced I've ever seen in any RPG.

The caster was beautiful with its Nuke and go abilities, nuke poorly and you die. Also could go the multi-strike path which was safer but longer. Or you could combine styles utilizing the mana bomb as a shield buster and just smash away like a warrior... the ways are endless

The warrior was also beautiful, not the same damage capasity as a caster, but once you suit up the gear it takes almost no damage. Throw in a little mana regen and a higher heal spell and it will never die. Again this character has countless methods of developement, right on.

The rouge/ninja class, the speed class was insane... hard to tap potential due to the amount of points required and considering the short game-play, but again, so many ways to use this character, like the speed + strength build would make for a warrior which can never die, or a nice just burst to death style, or throw in a comrad and just tear away with the multi-strike style.

I must ask a few questions, or one with many answers. Where are all the items? I remember in my tinkering that I found an item that I thought came from the training room, but can't remember what it was...

Thank you for your submission and I feel it is safe to say, the Newgrounds community looks forward too more pieces by you and everyone by direct association.

Super Mario Revived

"You make me sad..."

date: June 24, 2005

I don't mean to offend you... but that sucked as a game... it was pretty much the same level over and over again. You probably had great fun making it but, oiy! That was a whole bunch of no fun. You got the graphics perfect, that I'll give you but try and THINK MARIO. If your going to post a game on New Grounds make it fun, I have every mario game in exsistance somewhere in my house. The "power ups" are what makes Mario... well... Mario. Also try and not the levels, they have depth in SO many ways, you have a wide range of monsters. You have places where you have to jump to keep from falling off the edge, you have water levels where you have to avoid those bothersome fish of all kinds of crazy sorts. You have to run across levels with one major monster chasing you the entire time while you are trying to avoid all the other hazards. Not expecting you to make as good as a mario game but one that is a little more entertaining would be nice. Keep making these, practice abit with the aspects of flash and THEN when you have a really nice piece that all your friends and family would become addicted too if only slightly post it here.

Mortal Kombat Mishaps

"Nice"

date: June 8, 2005

Very funny, and nicely done. Enjoyed the clock :-) and the faces in the corner to boot. But please next time don't make just the text the link, try and incorperate it inside a box and make the entire thing selectable, annoying as hell clicking on the text itsself. Userfriendly is as important as content.

Author's Response:

i'll keep that in mind for the next one.
